The Family Crest

November 4, 2009

In the old days, royal families and the aristocrats had family crests. They used them to embody the principles that they stood for. They displayed it on flags, medallions, figurines, swords, shields, and other objects that had room for a logo. They even put in utensils for festivals and the like. However, as the ages wore on, this tradition has all but gone into the depths of history. The few remaining families with crests are mostly comprised of wealthy descendants of nobility. They are probably the lucky ones that survived history’s torments.

Nowadays, it is actually possible to have family crests. This isn’t for the rich and famous alone. Even the commoners of today can have their family crest. They just have to know a little about the history of their clan. The most effective way to display these crests is to use custom flags. These custom crest flags would prove invaluable to any family what wishes to display its family crest.

It is quite an easy task to set up a family crest. All you have to do is to first establish what values your family would stand for. Then, you assign symbols and colors to those values so that you could create an image of it. This compiles the history of your clan into one powerful image that represents what you stand for. Finally, you can get someone to print it on a custom flag. You can then have it designed any way you want. After that, you can let it fly in a dignified space.
